Redundancy opens a whole new world of opportunities

My name is Jordan and I’m 22 years old. I am currently work at Tata Steel in Port Talbot and been employed there for 3 years. I am currently at risk of being made redundant, which will massively affect my future. I heard of funding available through word of mouth in work which was the PLA (Personal Learning account), and other TATA colleagues had already done courses at The Construction Hub Academy, so I took it upon myself to ring them and they were very helpful and  sent me over all the information I would need to apply, the process from start to finish was very easy and anytime I called in, help was at hand, they enrolled me with NPTC Group of colleges with no problems at all.

I loved the experience to learn new skills to better myself, Thank you Construction Hub Academy.

Background/Info

I came to the Construction Hub Academy and completed my Telescopic Handler and 360 Excavator courses, I decided to do both my courses under CPCS but was also offered NPORS, after a brief discussion with administration staff, CPCS was my preferred choice.

My plan is to look for 360 excavator jobs, to gain experience and build my hours, I hope to return to get more plant operator licence tickets to help secure my employment, I was also advised that my licenses last 2 years and I would need to do an NVQ within this time, and again The Construction Hub informed me that this is something they can help with, when I am ready and feel comfortable to progress once my experience grows.
