The Construction Hub Academy gain approval to deliver City & Guilds NVQ’s and Apprenticeships

We are delighted to announce that we have successfully been given approval to deliver City & Guilds Plant NVQ’s and Apprenticeships in Groundworks Level 2/3 as part of our expanding training portfolio.

This milestone is a major move for the business where we are on a mission to upskill candidates by providing best in class opportunities to increase skills in the construction industry in Wales.

The City & Guilds Construction Level 2 & 3 Civil Operations – Groundworks apprenticeships will support the employer working with The Construction Hub Academy with an ongoing work-based learning qualification. The learner will start their employment and commence their learning journey with a training plan and progress to meet the apprenticeship with onsite assessment, classroom learning and practical training.

Figures from the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) reveal that 9,100 extra workers will be required to meet construction demand in Wales by 2027, so providing the necessary support for workers to gain access to plant training courses is even more of a priority.

Chris Rosser, Director at The Construction Hub Academy comments on the achievement: “We are delighted that we will now be able to offer City & Guilds NVQ’s and Apprenticeships in Groundworks and Civils to our candidates, whilst working in collaboration with employers in Wales.  At The Construction Hub Academy, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to work and to obtain the necessary skills to function in a role to the best of their ability. By offering these NVQs and Apprenticeships we will continue to provide as many opportunities as possible to support, train and provide further prospects to individuals, whether this is through placements, a full-time job or additional training.”

Angharad Lloyd Beynon, City & Guilds Policy, Stakeholder and Partnerships Manager also commented, “I am pleased that The Construction Hub Academy will now be addressing the skills gaps within Groundworks and Plant in Wales by delivering City & Guilds Apprenticeships and NVQ’s. We bring over 140 years’ experience of developing qualifications and assessments in the construction and built environment sector. We strongly believe in empowering people with opportunities for the future, and we do this by developing learning programmes and assessments that meet employer’s needs. Our aim is to provide high quality qualifications, resources and services that will assist The Construction Hub Academy to enable their learners to fulfil their potential and to meet the needs of todays and tomorrow’s workplace.”
